Frequently Asked Questions
Do you shoot nationwide for boudoir photography?
Sure do. As you’ve probably noticed, there aren’t many female photographers doing what I do. I’m based in Auckland but travel a lot; call me to discuss how this can work.
Do you offer hair and makeup?
Yes, it’s covered in your session fee. It is important you use one of our incredibly talented make-up artists, as they are skilled in this type of makeover. If you’re based outside of Auckland, we’ll leave it to you to find a local make-up artist that you’d like to use for your glamour photo shoot.
If you hold a gift voucher, the fee for hair and makeup is $200
But I have no idea how to pose and look sexy!
Neither does anyone else! Relax – I will teach you and guide you into each pose. Having a collection or storyboard of intimate photos helps me guide you into the style of shots you really want. Start by looking at boudoir photography on Instagram and saving some images, then we can review those prior to your glamour photo shoot.
I’m not pretty or skinny enough, all the ladies on your website look like models
The ladies on my site are definitely not models – they’re regular people, just like you, and they thought the very same thing as you do about their bodies before their boudoir photography session! But they trusted the experience, and look at the results. You are worth it!
How far in advance should I book?
Because I travel a lot, you’ll need to book me in advance to make sure you can get an appointment. I do get occasional last minute cancellations, so always best to call first to see what availability I have.
Can I reschedule my boudoir shoot?
When you book and confirm an appointment, we set aside precious studio time and staff resources for your photography session and design consultation. We ask that you, therefore, do us the courtesy of providing at least 48 hours notice of any cancellation or postponement, not only for our benefit but also so other clients’ appointments don’t get disrupted.
We understand that rescheduling has to happen sometimes due to illness or unexpected events, but we do ask for your co-operation and understanding in upholding the 48-hour rescheduling policy so all our clients can enjoy the same level of service and attention we pride ourselves on. Failure to provide adequate notice of cancellation or multiple rescheduling will result in forfeiting your session fee.
All our makeup artists book out in advance so if your session is cancelled last minute, you will lose your makeup fee.
What should I bring to my boudoir photoshoot?
Anything you think would make you feel confident and sexy. Treat yourself to some nice lingerie, a silky robe, high heels, perhaps your favourite jewelry, an over-sized t-shirt – bring it all along, whatever you want that will suit the aesthetic of what you’re after. We provide you with a whole list of tips and ideas in the booking letter we send out, too.
Can I have my boudoir photo shoot done in my home or a hotel?
Absolutely, as long as we have light to work with, and you feel that the set up is suitable for the style of photography you’re wanting to achieve. If you wish to choose a hotel/location, you will be responsible for location charges.
Do I have to be naked?
Of course not. We’re all about showing off just a hint, but you let us know what you love. Most partners feel that leaving something to the imagination is better rather than baring it all!
But, can I be naked?
Yes of course. Nothing is more empowering than having some intimate photos taken. So I can understand your style, I will ask you to send me through some examples of the types of photos you would like from your nude boudoir photography session.
I’m feeling a little nervous about my shoot
There’s no need; it’s up to me to make you feel relaxed and guide you through the poses. The champagne helps to ease any nerves too! Just relax and enjoy your session, we’ll take care of the rest. Meet me for a coffee beforehand if you like, this may help you feel more at ease.
What if I have a problem area I want to avoid?
Everyone does, including me! We talk about all this on the day and before your booking. Regardless of age or body type, we specialise in flattering your best features.
Our advanced retouching includes skin softening, natural wrinkle reduction, acne, scars, cellulite and stretch marks, so don’t worry about all these little details, we have them covered already.
We cannot completely change the shape of your body, this is getting into very complex work, and looks completely unnatural which isn’t us or the real you.
We can chat about just how much retouching you’re comfortable with.
Can I buy all the digital copies?
Of course – we have digital packages that you can choose from.
Will you use my photos on your website or social media?
Only with your permission. We fully understand and respect the privacy of our clients. At the end of your design consultation, you’ll sign a contract which gives you the option here to opt out.
How old do I have to be to have a session with you?
